Engine Diagnostics stuff. PDF Print E-mail
The average vehicle on the road today contains nearly as much electronics and computing power as the space lander that put the first men on the moon.  Nearly every system on your vehicle; from steering and brakes, to fuel injectors and air conditioning are all controlled by a computer.  This “onboard computer” has a series of sensors, through which it can determine if there is a problem with any of these systems and notify the driver via dashboard warning lights.

What can go wrong?
Any number of things.  There are sensors in your vehicle that will notify the CPU when there is a problem.  Some sensors tell the CPU when the mixture of air and gasoline are not right.  Other sensors tell the CPU when the engine timing is off, or the vehicle’s emissions are out of whack or when the ABS (anti-lock braking system) is not working properly.  Some of these problems show up as a dashboard warning light.  Others will generate a “code,” or notification to the car’s on-board computer that something is wrong.

How does Tuffy make it right?
Tuffy’s trained technicians use state of the art computer scanners, smoke machines, and good old fashion know how to “talk” to your car’s onboard computer to find out if and where there is a problem.  Based on this information, Tuffy can make a service recommendation to correct the problem.
