Maintenance Tune-Up stuff. PDF Print E-mail

The term “tune-up” is loosely defined as the adjustment of various components of an internal combustion engine to achieve maximum performance.  An internal combustion engine essentially works by using the force created from controlled explosions which take place in the engine’s cylinders to turn the drive shaft and wheels.  Tuffy’s Maintenance Tune-Up Service will make sure that this chain of events happens at the right time with optimum efficiency.  The engine timing, mixture of fuel and air, spark plug firing sequence, and emission control all have to happen in a precisely timed sequence in order for the engine to run properly.  Components that are typically checked, adjusted, or replaced during a maintenance tune-up service include:

  • Ignition System
  • Spark Plugs and Wires
  • Rotor Cap
  • PCV Valve
  • Fuel Filter
  • Fuel Injectors
  • Air Filter

What can go wrong?
Failure of any component within the internal combustion system can result in a number of problems.  Reduced fuel economy, decreased engine performance, higher emissions, and even engine failure can all be caused by things like clogged fuel injectors, dirty air and fuel filters, corroded spark plugs, bad plug wires, etc…  That’s why Tuffy’s Maintenance Tune-Up Service includes an evaluation of the entire systm to help identify and correct any potential problems.

How does Tuffy make it right?
Tuffy’s Maintenance Tune-Up Service takes a comprehensive look at the ignition and combustion systems of your vehicle.  We will inspect your spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, PCV valve, engine timing, fuel system, and more to find out what is required to keep your vehicle running at peak efficiency.
